SESWA Spotlight

Public Education and Outreach Programs
May 15, 2019 / 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (Eastern Time)

SESWA’s State Spotlight Webinar highlighted public education and outreach programs, one of the minimum measures required in your MS4 permit.  Source control is the most cost effective way to improve water quality, and effective public education and outreach programs are critical to changing public behavior by informing citizens about the impacts of polluted stormwater runoff.  This webinar reviewed the primary approaches to public education, practices and tools.  Discussion of case studies of successful public education efforts such as Project WET, the national water education program, and the Nashville Urban Runoff 5K helped attendees gain insights on how to improve practices in their community.
