About Us

The Southeast Stormwater Association was created in response to the ever-increasing demand for information on stormwater management and funding questions so you won't have to "reinvent the wheel" each time you undertake a new project! Our boundaries are co-terminus with those of EPA Region IV and include the states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. With a primary focus on services to stormwater professionals in city and county governments, membership is available to those in state, regional and local governments, the private sector, non-profit organizations and academia.

Purpose

  • To conduct training and educational programs such as workshops, seminars and conferences for professional staff and elected officials.
  • To research, compile and distribute information about stormwater management, flooding, best management practices and policies, water quality, and the creation/operation of stormwater utilities and other financing mechanisms.
  • To monitor the decision-making processes of regulatory agencies in the region as they relate to the interests of the membership.
  • To promote and enhance the effective management and operation of stormwater management systems.
