About Us

The Southeast Stormwater Association was created in response to the ever-increasing demand for information on stormwater management and funding questions so you won't have to "reinvent the wheel" each time you undertake a new project! Our boundaries are co-terminus with those of EPA Region IV and include the states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. With a primary focus on services to stormwater professionals in city and county governments, membership is available to those in state, regional and local governments, the private sector, non-profit organizations and academia.

Our Purpose

The purpose of SESWA is…

To conduct training and educational programs such as workshops, seminars and conferences for professional staff and elected officials.
To research, compile and distribute information about stormwater management, flooding, best management practices and policies, water quality, and the creation/operation of stormwater utilities and other financing mechanisms.
To monitor the decision-making processes of regulatory agencies in the region as they relate to the interests of the membership.
To promote and enhance the effective management and operation of stormwater management systems.
